Performance Tips

Performance is a huge issue with physics based games such as Metal Combat. If you are using an innefecient or older system, your perfomance may degrade the ability for the game to calculate physics fast enough to simulate accurately. We recomend the fastest sytem you can afford with as much RAM as possible, this is a performance tasking game.

You can adjust Metal Combat to optimize performance on your system. In general moving the sliders to the left of the screen will decrease resolution but increase performance. Some video cards perform better at 720 than lower resolutions. Metal Combat also has features the ability to link up online with a freind and fight with physics over the net via Metal Combat Online.

You can select either 720 or 1024p modes and output with a vga cable to a modern LCD or DLP HDTV and play in true High Definition 3D. Some video cards perform better at 720 than lower resolutions.

Antialiasing removes jagged edges from computer graphics, some advanced video cards can do high levels of antialiasing without affecting the perfomance of the gameplay. Most modern laptop and low end gaming systems will need to keep this setting on the lowest. Modern desktop systems, and fast laptops may be able to achieve a higher resolution picture with antialiasing at 2x or higher without a performance loss.

Sound can be rendered in 2d or 1 of three 3d sound modes. 3d sound will cause performance degredation to systems not equipped with a powerful sound card.

Object Resolution sets the fidelity of objects that are rendered in real time. Most users will want to leave these at default.
